American SIDS Institute


A national, nonprofit health care organization founded in 1983 that is dedicated to preventing SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME (SIDS) and promoting infant health through an aggressive, comprehensive nationwide program. The institute promotes research about the cause of SIDS and methods of prevention, offers clinical services to help pediatricians in the medical management of high risk infants, provides information about prevention methods aimed at the public and medical community, and offers family support providing crisis phone counseling, grief literature, and referrals.
